Goodbye Summer

Although I may not have completed everything on my summer checklist, I had a very fulfilling summer. And with my senior year of high school starting tomorrow I thought it would be a good idea to look back on the top 3 most fulfilling things I did this summer:

3. I earned over $2000
-- Growing up I never have had to work. I live a relatively privileged life although I am not spoiled. I babysat the most precious kids pretty much all summer, including going to the beach with them, and I earned a lot of money. However, truth be told I would have done it all for free because the kids are so stinking cute and it is the right things to do. But making money on my own was pretty rewarding.

2. I figured out who my real friends are
-- I have always had a very big group of friends, and I still do. I am pretty much friends with everyone but this summer I have really figured out who my life long true friends are. They were there for me literally through everything and I would do the same for them. They also still like me after seeing how strange I truly am.... which is shocking.

1. I summited a mountain
-- Considering a little over a year ago my doctors told me I was going to be paralyzed I was particularly proud of this accomplishment. While in Colorado, I woke up at 5 am to go and climb a mountain. It was 13000 ft up. We started at 10000 ft elevation however. No matter how much I bitched and complained about that hike I am seriously so proud of myself for making it to the top. It was hands down the most beautiful sight I have ever seen. & yes those are the clouds underneath me in that picture.

Hopefully this school year will be as wonderful as my summer was!
Much love

Although it has taken approximately four months for us to make this video, Caroline and I are very proud of the outcome. We need to start to prepare our speech for the Academy...

Enjoy ;]

The Bare Minimum

My poor, deprived followers... I am about to embark on a trip to Colorado where I will be wearing athletic clothes all week (I know it goes against all of my beliefs), have no cell phone, and will only use the beauty supplies pictured. I am truly roughing it, call me Bear Grylls. I am going to take you step by step through my makeup regimind for the week.

-First, while applying my minimal makeup, I put on Pond's Clarient B3 Dark Spot Correcting Cream. This cream does wonders for my skin. I apply it right after I wash and pat dry my face. It keeps my face moisturized all day. (note: I also put on SPF 50 to prevent sun damage, it's not pictured but it's by Neutrogena)

-Next I apply Covergirl Trublend minerals lightly all over my face. Followed by Benefit Bella Bamba blush. It gives the perfect healthy glow.

-Call me crazy but I use the Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream on my eyelids to keep them looking dewy and young. Trust me... It works.

-I then apply a tad bit of liquid eyeliner on the corners of my eyes. I use Prestige liquid Eyeliner in black. I then put on the holy grail of mascaras, MAC Haute & Naughty Too Black Lash. I do two coats to make my lashes extra bold and flirtatious. Caution: this mascara is NOT waterproof, handle with care.

-I then finish up with Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm, a quick walk through of Sexy Little Things NOIR (my signature scent from VS), and grab a pony tail holder to keep my hair at ease during the day.

Wish me luck on my wilderness excursion! I'll stay fabulous in the great outdoors, no need to fret.
I'll also post pictures upon my return!
Much love.

Summer Lips: Do's & Dont's

Summer Lips: The essential makeup necessity of summer. My typical summer look is face highlighter for my cheekbones and cupids bow, mascara, and lipstick. Yes I am using all of my car selfies to show you how to do summer lipstick properly.. judge me.

1. The first picture shows me with just chapstick. I like to use the plain old Burts Bees chapstick. It's like a tingling sensation on your lips. DO NOT leave the house with out putting on a chapstick with SPF. Trust me, your crusty lips will curse you if you do not.

2. The second pictures shows me leaving Starbucks (I'm addicted) with a burgundy lipstick on. I mixed in a little bit of a berry toned lipstick as well to brighten it up a little bit. DO NOT wear just a solid dark lipstick, it comes off too dark for summer. Save those shades for autumn and winter, plus dark lipstick looks so Anne-Hathaway-fab for the colder months.

3. The third picture is me at Starbucks (once again) but this time I wore a solid berry lipstick with a gloss on top. I wore dark clothing that day (shocking I know) so I tried to brighten up my outfit with my lipstick. By bright I mean a nice raspberry shade. DO NOT go all out with neon lips. Those will never be cute/in. Just because people wear it in fashion magazines does not mean you should.

4. In the fourth picture I am headed to a nice dinner, I chose to wear a coral lip-stain with a clear gloss on top. Coral is the perfect shade for summer. It compliments practically every skin tone. DO NOT interpret coral as orange. Coral is Coral... look it up.

My Summer Agenda

Sorry it's been so long dolls! I've been busy enjoying my summer break. Although after going through cheerleading camp, a summer fling, and several shopping trips it is about time it get into a schedule. Although I have a few vacays on deck for this summer, I will have a relatively boring agenda. Workout, shop, babysit, blog, be fabulous... its a never ending job. To spice things up a little bit however I made a summer check list. Here are a few of my items (remember this is a no judging blog; keep your opinions to yourself):

- do something scandalous. Obviously nothing earth shattering scandalous but in the words of Bonnie Raitt, "Let's give them something to talk about"

- go on a roadtrip (without my family)

- go skinny dipping... just for fun.

- make a significant difference in someone's life

- document all of my fabulous outfits

- not waste a single day this summer. There will always be something to do and I do not intend to sit around and be lazy.

Have a glam summer loves! I will try to post as often as possible, this could be difficult because I currently do not have a laptop. <3 <3

MET Gala '13

I look forward to the MET Gala all year long. The clothing seen there is seriously monumental in my opinion. It sets the tone for the rest of the years fashions. With a theme like "Punk: Chaos to Couture" and an honorary chair woman like Beyonce this year was sure to be a hit.

Lets start with the Chairwoman herself. What a babe. She could have honestly gone naked and I would have put her on the best dressed list.

Minka Kelly's hair and makeup were perfection. I seriously adore her style choices.

Rooney Mara followed the punk theme in an unconditional route. The vintage look of the lace combined with the slick hair and dark makeup was a great way to interpret the theme. I loved it.

Blake Lively... The only thing that could make this pale green frock any better would be if she brought her man candy, Ryan Renolds, with her.

MY FAVORITE LOOK. SJP knows how to be chic, she honestly does not care what anyone thinks of her fashion choices. This is such a Carrie Bradshaw look. But seriously only she could pull this off and the best occasion for it, the MET Gala. I mean the headpiece is not necessarily my style but it makes the whole outfit. Cheers to SJP.

What Would Claire Wear... to go eat Sushi

My friends and I had a little girls night out for sushi. We went to a super trendy restaurant downtown. This was one of those days where I was suffering a major fashion meltdown (don't judge me, it happens to the best of us). Luckily I was able to whip up a little something, although not very special, it was classy and chic.

Top- Creme tank.

Skirt- Leather fit and flare skirt. This skirt was a major statement piece so the rest of my outfit had to be pretty minimal.

Shoes- Mega tall nude shoes, not very practical. But you never hear of practical fashions making a statement huh?

Make Up/Hair- I did pretty natural makeup and then added a pop of color to the outfit with a bold red lip. My hair (as usual) was just natural and down.
