It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year*

No no, not Christmas (although I am a sucker for the Xmas season)... it is the aftermath of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. After the week of lavish fashions has passed, seeing all of the pictures being posted and albums being uploaded to the website, take a look (http://www.mbfashionweek.com/photos_and_videos), I feel a sense of inspiration when it comes to fashion. Take a peek at a few of my favorites.

Joanna Mastroianni
Herve Leger
Zimmerman
Rachel Zoe
Michael Kors **My absolute favorite

I cannot wait to start basing my spring '14 wardrobe off of these fabulous pieces. Black will be a major trend, which I am obviously excited about. Go check out Rachel Zoe's and Michael Kors' collection, those were the two that really got me. Have fun stalking the styles!

Autumn

As the air starts to cool (for south Louisiana that is the upper 60s) and the leaves begin to change colors and fall to the ground, I cannot help but get excited for the Autumn season. It is my absolute favorite time of the year, the fashions, the scents, and fresh breeze in the air, the colors... I love it all! Lets take a look at my favorite things for Autumn. (I get emotional just thinking about it)

  • Salted Caramel Latte from Starbucks <3
  • Sweaters
    • A few of my sweaters choices

  • Jeans (Urban Outfitters has the best fitting jeans for my body type)
  • Cheetah print accents (treat them as a neutral)
At the bookstore (notice the cheetah flats)
  • Halloween (Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader this year? I think yes.)
  • Football season
  • The leaves changing colors

Labor Day Weekend*

I had the absolute best Labor Day weekend with my absolute best friends! It started out on Friday night with a sassy pajama/ Sex and the City night. On Saturday we watched the VMA reruns and had sushi (which made me nauseous after watching Miley's performance...). Sunday, however, was the best day. Hannah, Elizabeth, Caroline, Kyle, and I (as seen above) went to the Shrimp and Petroleum festival in Morgan City, Louisiana. We ate fun carnival foods and played silly games. But the highlight of my day was going on the ferris wheel. The guy let us go on it like three times for the price of one (;]) and it was an absolute blast. You could see everything for miles at the top. It was that much better because I could not think of another group of people I would have rather been there with. I am so greatfull for my beautiful friends! Hope everyone else had as lovely a Labor Day weekend as I had!

What Would Claire Wear... to Lunch

Hello lovebugs! At this time of year you have to go for transitional pieces. You cannot wear pieces that are too summery or too wintery. A good combo for the weather is a light blazer with shorts and sandals or possibly jeans with a flowey shirt and short ankle booties.

Top- plain white tank, simplicity is key to the base top since I am wearing a blazer with stripped details on the cuffs.Tank is from Forever 21, blazer (although not mine) is from Target

Bottoms- flowey plain bottoms. I chose my signature color, black. Shorts are from Target as well

Shoes- the sandals keep it summery and make it transitional... also Target... I am a Target shopper.

Accessories- sunglasses (obviously) and a big purse to fit all possible necessities. I chose a pastel bag. It is a fair pink that I consider  a neutral. Bag is from Urban Outfitters and sunglasses are from (where else) Target.

Goodbye Summer

Although I may not have completed everything on my summer checklist, I had a very fulfilling summer. And with my senior year of high school starting tomorrow I thought it would be a good idea to look back on the top 3 most fulfilling things I did this summer:

3. I earned over $2000
-- Growing up I never have had to work. I live a relatively privileged life although I am not spoiled. I babysat the most precious kids pretty much all summer, including going to the beach with them, and I earned a lot of money. However, truth be told I would have done it all for free because the kids are so stinking cute and it is the right things to do. But making money on my own was pretty rewarding.

2. I figured out who my real friends are
-- I have always had a very big group of friends, and I still do. I am pretty much friends with everyone but this summer I have really figured out who my life long true friends are. They were there for me literally through everything and I would do the same for them. They also still like me after seeing how strange I truly am.... which is shocking.

1. I summited a mountain
-- Considering a little over a year ago my doctors told me I was going to be paralyzed I was particularly proud of this accomplishment. While in Colorado, I woke up at 5 am to go and climb a mountain. It was 13000 ft up. We started at 10000 ft elevation however. No matter how much I bitched and complained about that hike I am seriously so proud of myself for making it to the top. It was hands down the most beautiful sight I have ever seen. & yes those are the clouds underneath me in that picture.

Hopefully this school year will be as wonderful as my summer was!
Much love

Although it has taken approximately four months for us to make this video, Caroline and I are very proud of the outcome. We need to start to prepare our speech for the Academy...

Enjoy ;]
