Rest in Peace

"The death of someone we know always reminds us that we are still alive – perhaps for some purpose which we ought to re-examine."-  Mignon McLaughlin
It deeply saddens me to have to be writing this, but my community experienced a tragic loss last night. Under circumstances that will be left unsaid one innocent young boy was taken from this world and two others have been left with emotional scars that will forever taint them. These three freshmen, all fifteen, we're victims of an unfortunate and cruel shooting. Luckily two were spared their lives and the sweetest little guy was not so lucky. Austin Rivault, from what I hear and see, was the happiest and kindest soul. I never had the pleasure of knowing him during his short time on earth but nonetheless was I shaken up by this loss.

A prayer vigil was held at my school for the victims and 500+ people showed up to support and mourn the loss of Austin. This shows much of his character. He was a little guy who made a huge impact on my school and my community. I believe that God only takes people back when they have done their job. Austin made a big enough impact on everyone's lives as to where He wanted him back. Now the whole St Thomas More family has a sweet angel looking down on us and protecting us.

This community has truly come together to support the families and Austin has made everyone grateful for their lives and loved ones. He showed us how to love again in a world that is not loving.
Thank you Austin for putting our lives into perspective. You will never be forgotten, even by those who never got to know you. Keep a watchful eye on us all, we're sending you prayers buddy. RIP

xoxo
