What Would Claire Wear: NYE***

With New Year's Eve tomorrow I found it appropriate to do this post on Monday instead of Wednesday. NYE is so fabulous because it is a great excuse to get all sparkly and glam.

Dress:
-this years dress is actually from Forever21. It is gold and mega fitted. Perfect for New Years.

Shoes:
-nude pumps are ALWAYS the best bet.

Accessories:
-I have a divine pair of dangly earrings that I will most likely wear (seen on WWCW: homecoming). I'm also going to wear a leather jacket there but that will come off later;]

Hair/Make-up:
-I will most likely wear my hair wavy half up half down with slight poof on top. Verrrry elegant. I will wear the most divine Bare Minerals eyeshadow that is kind of dark and a matte wine lip stain..ya know, so it doesn't rub off on the lucky guy getting a New Years kiss from moi!

Hope you all have a magical *NYE*
Make it super special and make that kiss memorable!

Sanctuary

My room is probably my favorite place in the world, besides Paris and the French Press downtown. If I never had to leave it I probably never would. I just spent about a year long process of remodeling it so I am very proud. I have been getting asked quite frequently what it looks like so I thought this post may be helpful.

1. The first photo is of my dresser. On it I have a stack of vintage Glamour Magazines circa 1950s. I also have a vintage tea set (kind of cut out of the photo... whoops), my mothers homecoming queen tiara, and all of my bras. Above it is an iron Eiffel Tower with old fashioned models on it and across from that is a little frame with postcards of vintage fashion photographs that I bought at a couture exhibit in Paris.

2. Photo two is my favorite part of my room, my bed. Its basically all black with a little dark grey plaid throw blanket and my New York city skyline pillows from Urban Outfitters. My headboard is also from Urban. It has little clips all over it and I put things that make me happy on it, such as polaroids and magazine clippings. My bedside table was handmade by my uncle and it has my lamp, a stack of unread magazines, and candles on it. My mannequin is also there.

3. This part of my room is my vanity. I recently strung lights around it, ya know.. setting the mood. I also have art by my friends hung around there. I put little things like my make up bag and a 1960's telephone that belonged to my grandfather on my vanity. I just got that little sofa which I LOVE. I am currently typing this post from there.

4. This is right whenever one would walk into my room. The shelf in photo four is where I keep all of my fashion books and my collection of Glamour's (in case you can't tell I am a wee bit obsessed). I also like to keep chocolates on there for guests.

Hope this gives you guys a little insight into my life!

Holiday Party Dress

Happy holidays bombshells!

The Christmas season clearly entails many outfits. This dress (bought at a local shop) will be one of my holiday dresses. This one is my party dress. I will also need a mass dress and a Christmas day outfit. I will will post pictures of the outfits to come!

  • Dress
    • Fitted and the photo does not do the color justice, it is a very rich red.
  • Shoes
    • I will probably wear these black strappy stilettos that look like they could literally kill someone.
  • Accessories
    • Black tights (it is winter.. I have to), and most likely my trench coat. Ideally I could wear my fur coat but it is still in Santa's workshop.
  • Hair/ Make-up:
    • Most likely I will wear my hair down but it is also possible that I will wear it in a low messy bun. Make-up wise I will most likely wear burgundy lipstick and minimal eye make-up... I don't want to look like a stripper... at least not at Christmas.
I look so forward to posting my other Christmas looks:]

What Would Claire Wear: My favorite tights

Sorry for the late posts dolls. Exams are getting the best of me.
However my comfort food for my soul is the tights up there^^
They help make the worst of days a little more glamorous. Although ripped and torn and worn to their absolute maximum, I just cannot get enough of these $5 Forever 21 tights. I mean I could always invest in a new pair but then the memories that came with each and every run in my tights would be forgotten, thrown away. I am torn, just like my Forever 21 tights.

But Baby it's Cold Outside

With the air becoming so frigid I find myself wanting to stay in far more often. What better way to pass my time indoors than to watch a movie? I am all about movies, I am the girl who could lay in bed in some sassy pjs with coffee and watch Netflix. all. day.

So whenever you are feeling like you need a day indoors and out of the cold air I put together a list of my favorite movies to cuddle with.

http://www.imdb.com/

  • Clueless
    • It is seriously like every girl at my schools life via movie.
    • Best quote:
      • Amber: "Ms. Stoeger, my plastic surgeon doesn't want me doing any activity where balls fly at my nose."
      • Dionne: "Well, there goes your social life"
  • Breakfast at Tiffany's
    • It really would be distasteful not to include it on the list.
    • Best quote:
      • Holly Golightly: "A girl can't read that sort of thing without her lipstick."
  • LOL
    • Don't knock it before you try it... ***Miley Cyrus pre-twerk**
    • Best quote:
      • Lola: "We're in slow-mo because that's how the hot girls always show up."
  • Angus, Thongs, and Perfect Snogging
    • This is one of those movies that make you realize that things could always be worse... you could be as unattractive/awkward as Georgia is. And it literally made me cry I laughed so hard.
    • Best quote:
      • Georgia: "Look, I can't go out with you, because... because... because I'm a lesbian."
 Happy cuddly days!

Out of my Comfort Zone

With it being my senior year and all I decided to do something entirely out of my comfort zone and try out for the school play. Shockingly, I made it. The play was Godspell which is a tradition at my school, so it was kind of a big deal. Once I was casted into the play I started to panic. What the heck in the world do I think I am doing? I'm not good at this! I seriously had to go all out with this sort of thing, which is very unlike me. I know I am good at fashion, I know I am good at cheerleading, this... Not so much. I had to be totally and completely vulnerable.

It ended up being one of the greatest decisions of my life. I met people who I otherwise would have never spoken to or even crossed paths. It honestly has changed my life for the better. These people taught me to f*** what other people thought and I want to pass that wisdom on to you guys.

What Would Claire Wear: Christmas Jammies*

If there is one thing that this chick loves, it is pajamas. So throw in the fact that they are Christmas-y and I am sold. I own more jammies than people could imagine. This particular pair is from Old Navy, only $25! Practically free! I also recently got a VS xmas nighty that is red and off-the-shoulder and it says (do not judge me) "Naughty not Nice". They are precious, and so festive! Remember, when you wear sassy PJs you wake up sassy!
  • Top
    • My comfy off white flannel, it reads "oh deer!" in gold leafing with the little graphic dear on it. So warm and cozy to wear while watching Christmas specials. (side note: My favorite Christmas special is Santa Claus is Coming to Town, ya know... the super old clay animation one)
  • Bottom
    • Christmas color plaid... 'nough said.
  • Eyemask
    • My eyemask was handmade by my best friend Caroline. She personalized it, it reads "Bitch" in sequins. I seriously love my mask with my whole heart. When I wear it to sleep I can rest assure knowing the next day will be a Bey day.
Sleep fabulous and you will be fabulous my angels!

My Strange Addictions

Whenever I discover something I enjoy, like a show or a food, I become addicted to it. It is a bad habit, you don't have to tell me twice. Do I feel remorseful about it? Hell no.

My current addictions are ______.

  • Gossip Girl
    • forever and always. My weekend binge watching of the show could be considered sinful, but God please don't save me now... It is my second time watching every single season through. Even though I already know exactly what is going to happen I still find myself smiling when Chuck is giddy, crying whenever Blair has friendship issues, heartbroken when B and S fight, and in complete and utter shock when I found out who Gossip Girl was (again).
  • Christmas
    • 'tis the season, eh?
  • Panties
    • buying panties gives me a ridiculous amount of joy. I hope I am not the only person who feels this way, if so.. more panties for moi!
      Aerie (combines XMAS&panties), Free PeopleBHLDN
  • Belvoir Elderflower & Rose Lemonade
    • it's orgasmic. I would recommend this to the most prestigious of people without hesitance... that's right Beyonce, I'm talking to you.
  • My new hat
    • I mean it doesn't really get all that cold in south Louisiana but what if I go to Russia? or decide to go ice skating? It will be useful one day. I mean 50% off from Banana Republic... if anything I could use it to recreate Blair's Anna Karenina lingerie from GG season 3.

Although my addictions can be destructive, admitting I have a problem is the first step.

Christmas Cookies

With Christmas rapidly approaching, I know Thanksgiving was yesterday but I have been listening to Christmas Pandora for a month now (judge me), my very spirited friend Kyle and I decided to make our first batch of gingerbread men for the season! As we baked we watched That's So Raven Christmas special and sang our favorite Christmas jingles (again, judge me). So to get my followers kick started on some Christmas cookie baking I have provided some links to some awesome looking cookie recipes! Bon appetit!

What Would Claire Wear: Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to all! Let me start by saying how thankful I am for all of my followers. You guys keep me motivated to dress fabulous everyday:] I am such a lucky girl. I have an incredible family, even more incredible friends, and have been blessed with such a privileged life.

Wondering what to wear to Thanksgiving dinner? I put together what I find the ideal Thanksgiving outfit, roomy enough to eat whatever the hell one would want.

  • Top
    • SO warm. It is very practical & it will hide the food baby waiting to be conceived. I love the cutout shoulders on this sweater and it is also the perfect shade for the season. I got this sweater from www.chicwish.com a couple of months ago.
  • Bottom
    • Just the normal black jeans, nothing special about them. This is my super old pair, I choose to wear these because they are stretchier. They are from Urban Outfitters.
  • Shoes
    • I am wearing black booties with a thick black heel. All 4'11 of me could really use the extra height. These shoes are very old, I want to say they are from Sears. (thick wool socks will indeed be worn)
  • Hair/Make-up/Accessories
    • I really could wear my hair however with this outfit but I choose to wear it down for warmth purposes. I wore minimal eye make-up because I wanted to wear my deep lipstick called "Perfect Plum".  You cannot really see them but I am also wearing silver hoops. A wise bombshell once told me "when you are feeling frumpy or mom-like, ALWAYS wear hoops". And lo and behold she was right. I am also wearing a very old grey pea coat that I adore. Super warm and super practical. It is from the North Pole, Santa brought it.

Have a wonderful day beauties! Love you guys

Updates

Hello dolls!
So I have been organizing and putting a lot of work into my blog lately in order to regulate it. I will start to do things a little differently from now on, don't worry it will still be the same old me!
I will now post on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. I am designating Wednesdays "What Would Claire Wear Wednesdays" and the other two days will just be general blog posts. I will also throw in other posts here and there but this should start to get things going.
Happy Holidays<3

Rainy Day Rituals

Rainy days are my favorite days. I feel no pressure to be productive on days like so. It is like a rejuvenating day where the rest of the world halts, so I do not have to feel bad about missing out on anything. My rainy days usually consist of the same thing, and I do not feel the least bit bad about spending my day in bed. After all, why leave the house when you can indulge in the laziness of a rainy day?

Rainy days are perfect for ________.
  • sleeping in
    • “A rainy day is like a lovely gift -- you can sleep late and not feel guilty.” -Elizabeth Jane Howard
  • drink coffee
    • if there is a fire in the fire place then I would suggest hot chocolate as a holiday alternative
  • watch Sex and the City
    • self explanatory
Hope your rainy days are as unproductive as mine are!

New Orleans Lady

On Saturday two of my dearest girlfriends and I made a day trip to New Orleans. Growing up in Louisiana it is expected that I frequent the big easy but that is not so. It is about a two and a half hour drive from where I live and finding time to make the trek is difficult. Caroline, Kyle, and I had to go for a few reasons.
1.) The girls volleyball team from my school made it to state so we had to go and support them.
2.) Caroline's art was published in a cook book (seen here). She had a signing for it to attend. She is basically a celeb, "It was bound to happen sooner or later"- Caroline.
3.) A little retail therapy was MUCH needed. All I bought was panties, but the right undergarments can make or break my day. The sassier the panties, the sassier the girl .

During our time there we shopped, ate at Cafe Du Monde, and walked the streets of NOLA. I must say, It was a grand time.

I wore an oversized off the shoulder white sweater (old), high- waisted jeans from Urban, and heeled booties (old)... you know, the ones that made my feet bleed in Paris, but looking glamorous was worth it. I also wore a deep plum lipstick, not to be cheesy but it seriously transformed the whole entire look.

From my short day trip to New Orleans, I have realized that I want to become a regular there. I intend to go back over Thanksgiving break! Don't worry, many more outfits will come soon. This weather has me on a styling frenzy!

***VS Fashion Show '13***

Everyone stop what you are doing immediately. It is the most important day in television (in my opinion); more important than the presidential election, more important than the Superbowl, more important than the Thanksgiving Day Parade (hardly)... it is the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show! :]]]]] Although it is being taped this afternoon in NYC, it will air on CBS on December 10 and yes I am counting down the days. The show will feature some of our classic favorites such as Adriana, Candice, Lily, Alessandra, Lindsay, and many more. There will also be some sexy new faces to stare at in envy as well. The aftermath of show is a sequence like so: I get motivated to work out, I strut around in panties and such in my room, I sink into the depths of sorrow, I eat ice cream.

So it worth watching the show? It sure is.

Let's look back on some of my favorite moments in VSFS history:
1. My favorite moment in VS history is when Adriana Lima came out as the ring leader for a circus themed segment of the 2012 show. She literally owned it... and it was only EIGHT WEEKS after she gave birth to her second child. Like why God? Why can't I be her?

2. Alessandra Ambrosio reveled the 2012 fantasy bra she would be wearing that costs a cool $2.5 million dollars. Um excuse me what? Were the diamonds harvested by Jesus Christ himself?

3. My third favorite VS moment is when Maroon 5 played at the show in 2011. Adam Levine was strutting the catwalk as well, holding hands with is (now ex) girlfriend Anne Vyalitsyna. At the time it was literally my every fantasy come true.

4. In the 2012 show, Rihanna was werking it with the best of them as she performed her hit "Diamonds" and walked along side a blond VS bombshell.

HONORABLE MENTION:

*Miranda Kerr showing off the 2011 fantasy bra in the finale... what I wouldn't give to see her walk the Victoria's Secret runway just one last time...

So start planning your Fashion Show party now. Prepare your sassiest pjs and gather your friends, it's going down. Cannot wait to see the Victoria's Secret team outdo themselves again this year!

xoxo

Nothing was the Same

I have had quite the emotional weekend. I got to see my one true love, Drake, live in concert in the New Orleans Arena. Opening up for him was Miguel, and he was very suave if I must say. But seriously... I would recommend that every single person alive go see Drake. It was hands down the most incredible concert I have ever been to! It was me being white as can be with one of my friends and I regret nothing. A lady got chosen to go up on stage and Drizzy sang "Hold On, We're Going Home" to her. I was so freaking jealous. Today while I was listening to him in my car I thought about what would have happened if he would have called me up there and I started crying... I am not pathetic, I am devoted. I am actually sad because I won't get to see any more of the concerts on this tour.Everything he performed was top notch.

**notice the little mama putting on her lipstick towards the end**

SO grateful for one of the best nights my life. Drake was indeed correct.. Nothing was the Same.

What Would Claire Wear... to Homecoming**

I just attended my final homecoming dance at my school, and let me tell ya... at St Thomas More Catholic High School the girls do not wear gaudy typical homecoming attire. This is like a cocktail style event. I have seen some unbelievably priced dresses and some from Forever 21. However, I must say everyone really pulled through this year. I saw some superb style. This year I wanted to go for understated glam, take a look at my attempt.

Dress- Romantic off the shoulder (and BLACK:]) Very comfortable and no one had a dress like it. I got this dress from Nasty Gal.

Shoes-  I wore THE shoes. The shoes that I wear everywhere. They are my safety net. I loveeee them. Very tall and verrrrry uncomfortable. Worth it? I think yes.

Jewelry- I am not a huge jewelry person but I must say, my earrings really completed the look. They added just a hint of sparkle to a relatively plain outfit. I also had a vintage gold clutch that was my grandmothers.

Hair & Makeup- I did my hair loose and wavy, half up half down. It dressed up the outfit in the slightest sense. I did my own makeup, which was sort of plain. I had on various sparkly eye shadows with black cat- eyeliner. The best part of my makeup in my opinion was my lip stain. It was a perfect wine color. I would highly recommend investing in it. I got it in "wine to five".

I had a wonderful time dressing up for my homecoming and I loved loved loved seeing everyone's outfits, the good, the fab, and the gaudy.

*Precious Pumpkin Ideas*

I love Halloween. Period.
It is one of my favorite holidays. The best part for me is carving (or decorating) pumpkins.  Here are few modern ideas for a classic Halloween activity!

Melting crayons over the top of a pumpkin as seen on The Swell Life
Put a lace stocking over it (as seen by Lauren Conrad)
Personalized pumpkins like BHG does
Make a cutesie little "BOO" pumpkin as seen on BHG
and my personal favorite that I will be doing this Halloween...

GLITTER PUMPKINS<3 HGTV has the cutest ideas!
Hope this inspires you to make fabulous pumpkins! I cannot wait to decorate mine.

Autumn Agenda

I don't know if you guys could be remotely as excited as I am about the weather changing. I love (LOVE LOVE) cool weather. The crisp air of Fall is orgasmic to me. Coming with Autumn are many fun activities to try out. My agenda for October:

  • Go to a haunted house
    • There is bound to be a haunted house in your community. I am the person who yells profanities at the people in the house... I can't help it, in my mind the monsters will leave me alone when all 4'11 of me tells them rot in hell.
  • Make caramel apples
    • Extra points if you picked the apples yourself (another fun activity that south Louisiana cannot provide). Here is a great recipe!
  • Go to the pumpkin patch
    • Pumpkins are the signature fall staple. I love to pick my very own little veggie from the local pumpkin patch. The best is carving/decorating them. Like how much more festive can one get? I also like to roast the pumpkin seeds. Just simply wash them off, salt them, and stick them in the oven until golden.
  • Have a Hocus Pocus party
    • Not everyone will admit to it but that is by FAR the best Halloween movie. I mean come on, Sarah Jessica Parker pre Sex and the City people!! To make your party that much better, wear Halloween attire and eat spooky foods!
    • Attire wise could either be a full on costume or just your festive Halloween panties (mine say "Boo-ty" ;]
    • Lauren Conrad has tons of cute Halloween food ideas on her website
  •  Wear sweaters... tons and tons of sweaters.

Gift Guide

Throughout my group of friends I am known as a phenomenal gift giver. It really is a talent of mine. Although sometimes it can seriously be a struggle of mine to find the perfect something. I have made a little guide on gift giving based on my friends personalities. The list includes a book, a candle, and a miscellaneous gift. Hope it helps!

  • The Bestfriend
    • Best friends deserve more heartfelt gifts. They would be happy with just about anything (but know you have something awesome up your sleeve). They are your sweet companion in life and their gifts should reflect your gratitude towards them.

**Concert tickets, a surprise weekend trip, and a personalized phone case (can be made at Shutterfly) would also be an awesome gift for a best friend.

  • The Fashionista
    •  We all have that friend who is right on cue with literally everything she wears. It can be hard to find something as glam as they are but I have found a few things that would meet the expectations of Rachel Zoe. Try to stick with blacks, golds, and nude tones for this friend. These colors are always in style.

**This friend enjoys the finer details in things so pretty fabrics are also good gifts, as well as jewelry (depending on the friends taste), and sweaters.

  • The Sporty Gal
    • Total opposite of me,it was hard to establish at first what this friend may want. But workout clothes can be chic too! Try to find things with beachy scents and blue tones.
It can be difficult to find a fun book for a sporty friend but a great alternative to that would be a subscription to a fitness magazine, my suggestion would be "Women's Fitness"

http://store.nike.com/us/en_us/pd/nike-premiere-maria-tennis-tank-top/pid-775505/pgid-775504
**Athletic clothes and accessories are a great gift for this friend.

    • The Old Soul
      • This friend is convinced she is born in the wrong era. She enjoys pastel color palettes,  can also be a bit quirky and enjoys the little things in life, like Zooey Deschanel.

**Old fashion things like Vinyl (as seen above) and lace attire are great gifts. She also loves incense and vintage furniture.

    • The Classy Chick
      • This girl is the modern day Audrey. She is a class act and finding gifts for her can be quite the task. Now a days it is difficult to find things worthy of a doll like her. Black, white, and reds are great color palettes and a strong perfumed scent would be good for her as well.

    http://www.chanel.com/en_US/fragrance-beauty/Makeup-Lipstick-ROUGE-ALLURE-130969
**She enjoys the finer things in life, she is about quality not quantity. So splurge on one gift instead of buying a lot of cheap ones.
    • The Party Girl
      • The life of the party, always surprising me with her wit and spontaneous spirit!  She is totally a fan of bright colors and spicy scents.
This friend would appreciate a magazine subscription compared to a lifestyle book.
I would get her a years subscription to Cosmopolitan magazine.
    Always a good read ;]
